Special thanks goes to the Hempfield Soccer Club who participated with us for the event. Also, special thanks goes to Turkey Hill Dairy for providing the ice cream for our giant sundae. The final result was a total length of 52.5 ft long. We sold a good portion of the tickets, the weather cleared up right before the event, and the ice cream didn’t melt before we had a chance to serve it.

Some other information about the sundae, it was comprised of 70 individual banana splits. We used just under 15 gallons of ice cream, along with 3 lbs of chocolate sauce, 5lbs of strawberry and pineapple sauce, and 15 cans of whipped cream.

Thank you again to everyone who came out. Scoops will definitely be doing it again next year, and if you or your organization would be interested in having a giant banana split fundraiser, please contact me at 717-475-1324.

My goal eventually is to do a 100yard split, possibly to benefit a local school district after a football game.

The 45th attempt at the Meltdown is currently underway, a 12 year old guy is making his run at it, he is about half way done, and is currently 18 mins…I’m interested to see if he can keep up this pace, or will he become the 40th victim to date…during this attempt, we had 2 of his buddies join in on the fun. All three went toe to toe with the Meltdown, but ultimately came up short….better luck next time.
